Equine Ops: Enhanced Barn Management & Daily Operations

Equine Ops is an established daily operations application that complements Equine Workspace and can also be used on its own. It brings the moving parts of a working barn, including horse care, staff coordination, schedules and the operational side of the books, into one place where the team can actually use them day to day. Recent enhancements focus on clearer visibility, better communication and more detailed financial reporting.

Personal and Barn-Wide Dashboards

My Dashboard gives each team member a focused view of their own assignments, priorities and recent team activity, so the day starts with a clear sense of what needs attention. Barn Overview steps back for a broader picture of barn operations, showing how work is progressing across the team and the horses in care. Barn Overview is especially useful displayed on a shared barn screen, where everyone can see the current state of the operation at a glance.

Team Notes and Communication

Team Notes provides a shared information space for barn-wide updates: feed changes, turnout notes, vet follow-ups and anything the whole team needs to know. It sits alongside the existing private team messaging, so day-to-day coordination and broader barn announcements each have a clear home.

Improved Barn Board

The Barn Board now offers improved filtering and visibility by status, horse and staff member, making it easier to find the work that matters in the moment. The existing Horse View and Staff View remain available, so you can look at the board from the perspective of a single horse or a single person without losing the broader picture.

Clearer Assignment Management

Assignments now have a clearer overview of responsibilities, priorities and progress. It is easier to see what is assigned, what is in progress, what is waiting and what has been completed, which helps the team stay coordinated and makes handoffs between people more reliable.

Expanded Expenses & Billing

The expenses and billing side of Equine Ops has grown into the most substantial part of the application. Operational expenses can be tracked alongside billable services, with charges recorded against a horse and, where relevant, its owner. Billing preparation brings those records together so the figures are ready to review before anything goes out.

Owner statements summarize what a horse has cost over a period, while itemized invoice drafts let you assemble the detail before finalizing. Financial summaries and reporting pull the operational numbers together into a clearer picture of where the money is going and what is billable. For sharing outside the application, Equine Ops produces professional printable PDF documents for statements, invoices and reports.

Operational Reports and Downloads

Work history and operational reports give a record of what has been done, by whom and when. Supported exports and printable documents make it straightforward to share that information with owners, accountants or anyone else who needs a clear account of barn operations.

Mobile Access

Equine Ops works through a mobile browser and can be added to a phone's home screen, where it appears with its branded icon alongside other apps. It is designed for use around the barn from a phone, not as a native App Store application, and it does not support offline access.

What's Next

A planned, optional handoff will let billing preparation in Equine Ops move into Equine Workspace Payments, so the figures already gathered can carry through to collecting payment. That connection is on the roadmap and is not available yet; no release date is being set here.

Availability

Equine Ops is included with Equine Workspace plans and can also be used independently. It complements the broader Workspace without requiring it.
